doesn't
chase cars

Schwarz
Kennels on five acres of pasture land in Sam's Valley,Southern Oregon.
Our
dogs are bred with a laid back temperament and a desire to stay close to home. They can be left outside during the night (or
day) without ever going across the boundaries we have set for them.
Schwarz farms has a lovely creek that
runs nicely during the winter and spring when the dogs thoroughly enjoy splashing through the crisp cool waters.
Please call for an appointment

(Below is one of our F-1 outcross's)
We outcross only when we find exceptional dogs that
are healthy and come with impeccable true pedigrees. We only outcross when we have gone as far as we can to insure that we
have strong tight stock and we are ready to introduce those new genes.
We will NEVER breed into our lines any Shiloh's or King
Shepherds because of their health issues and the uncertainty of their pedigrees.
Our First outcross breeding after developing a saturated strain of large Companion/Service dogs
was with a Pyrenees x Anatolian from a professor of herd management in Sacramento, Calif. who had bred pure strains
of both breeds. We continually search for great dogs to outcross with to keep hybrid vigor for the longevity of the lives
of these great dogs.
Working our breeding practice this way, we have found that first generations are ok, with only a
few of the pups worthy of becoming breeders. The test scores go up in each breeding we do thereafter, breeding back into our
tight interbred lines. We keep Zorro because he begets consistency in temperament and character and .... because we love him.
The truth about all the Dogs that
are surrendered to the pound
Fifty-one
percent of dogs surrendered had been purchased for less than $100 from
a breeder or private owner.
(Only
nine percent from these private sources cost more than $100)
3.9 percent from litters
produced in the home.
2.5 percent came from pet stores;
Nearly 41 percent
of the surrendered dogs were obtained free from the
previous owner.
Fifty-four percent of the dogs surrendered were six
months to three years
old and 15 percent were less than six months old. (The study included
only acquired dogs, not surrendered litters.)
Nearly 20 percent of the surrendered dogs came from a shelter, and
about the same number were acquired as strays.
Behavior problems occurring daily that contributed to surrender
were:
ohyperactivity, 45 percent
obarking, 41 percent
ochewing 24 percent
ohousetraining accidents, 21 percent
oaggression to people, less than nine percent.
oaggression to other pets, less than eight percent
Autism and the Alsatian
If for only once in your life time, you get one of these dogs for your
own, you will never forget them!
NONE OF OUR DOGS HAVE
WOLF
IN THEM.
WE HAVE NEVER BRED WITH ANY OF THE
FOLLOWING:
SHILOH, KING, LONG COATED GSD
WE HAVE NOT BRED WITH ANY PURE BRED GERMAN SHEPHERDS IN OVER 15 YRS.
(In 2011 we received back one of our female Alsatians who was pregnant when we received her.
She had bred with several dogs of which no one was certain who the pups would belong to. In testing and observing the
pups we came to the conclusion that all pups were from the male German Shepherd type dog who went by the name of Bear. I am
not sure this dog was of pure lines.
We did keep two of these pups for a separate line. We will be breeding and testing that line
separately to see what we get. You are welcome to follow along with our breeding program and observe for yourselves.)
